Life as a child was endless summer all the way until that night in 1985 because “that night” marked a point of change. He was happy for a while but the events of that evening returned to haunt him and later turned his life into a cold-north-wind-infested night. They were celebrating the end of the academic year and their father’s retirement and their ascension to legal ownership of their father’s legacy. And on that evening, there had been no indication that it was going to end like this. But now, in 2020, he had a trip to arrange, and ideas to rearrange, a total reshuffling of the cards, so to speak, and something he did at intervals – a cleansing of the brain and a spring clean of the past to make it better before moving on. And it was starting now and on this evening during the pandemic, on this terrace and in this town on this warm spring night with his wild dreams and a haunting past of love, betrayal, ambition and death.
