It has often struck me how much other types of art inspire my writing. A visit to a local picture gallery, for example, can send my imagination into overdrive. But, for me, the most inspirational of other artistic pursuits is photography - or to be more precise - the old photograph that sends my creativity whirling. A good snapshot unlocks snippets of life from other times that would otherwise be lost to history.
I recently read an article, on the BBC culture page, which describes one man's mission to save all the old rolls of analogue film in the world that have never been processed.
