Perhaps trauma can be hereditary. I do not know, and have not seen the research. But I absolutely do not buy the idea of hereditary guilt any more than I buy the idea of original sin. It's a form of self-flagellation for those who do buy it, and a form of control or manipulation for those who try and sell it. By all means, though, let's look at the past and see what we can learn from it.
